Problem Statement

The carbon token project (CTP) gives anyone (individual, business or government) the means of verifying the existence of living trees on their land and provides a financial reward to them for as long as the trees are aliveCTP’s goal is to account for the world’s green assets on a blockchain and issue currency against it. We want to resurrect a world where money is backed by a tangible asset – forests - that serve all life on this planet

Solution

Hardhat, OpenZeppelin, Web3, React, Bootstrap, PolygonThe project is pretty massive so for the sake of the weekend, we focussed on the process for minting an NFT for a living tree. We built a smart contract for minting our NFTs using Solidity and an Open-zeppeling library for ERC721 nfts, and deployed that to Polygon's test network Mumbai.
