Problem Statement

Payce is a project that enables users to send USDC to anyone in the world using just their phone number, and allows recipients to spend their crypto instantly via Apple Pay.A fresh wallet is created using Privy and linked to the phone number, then funded by sender. The sender covers the gas via a Sponsor Wallet, so the recipient doesn’t need any native tokens.The recipient is notified by SMS with a magic link to claim their funds. No apps to install, no seed phrases to manage, just a seamless crypto experience, as easy as sending a text.

Solution

For this project, we used:Next.js for the web app, with ShadCN UI components and Tailwind CSS for a clean and responsive frontendTextbelt to handle SMS delivery and OTP verificationPrivy for account abstraction and seamless wallet creation mapped to the user’s phone numberMantle as our L2 blockchain for fast, low-cost, and gasless USDC transfersThis stack allowed us to create a smooth and intuitive UX, accessible even to non-crypto natives.
