Problem Statement

period dapp strives to empower menstruating people with ownership and choice over how their menstrual data is shared and stored. The time is now that we must usher in an era of menstrual health self-sovereignty and provide menstruating people with the opportunity to have consent over their menstrual data without having to revert to period tracking via pen and paper and sacrifice a digital experience. Before we dive into how our solution offers our users the opportunity to take back data that is rightfully theirs, let’s take a look at the current landscape to better understand why there is a need for period dapp in the market.there are around 55 million people who are current users of period tracking apps in the US. 55 million people are subjecting themselves to data exploit by third parties all over the word. Only 50% of these period tracking apps on the market actually prompt users to consent to data sharing while the other half are already accepting your consent from a simple acknowledgement of the terms & conditions. With a market size of an estimated $10 billion by 2030 its safe to say menstrual cycle tracking isn’t going anywhere, but there is a way we can bring value and data ownership back to the user. With period dapp users will now be able to decide how they want to use their data. Upon account creation using Wallet Connect, users will be prompted to either opt-in or opt-out of menstrual data sharing. If opt-in is selected, users are consenting and enabling period dapp to sell their menstrual data to 3rd parties as a means of personal profit - data is sold in exchange for a % of revenue that is allocated equally and deposited into the digital wallets of said users. We are using Tatum’s API to interact with user wallets through this process. Those who select opt-out will be the sole owners of that menstrual data ensuring privacy from third parties and other government agencies. The data will be encrypted and stored locally. Our projects repo is also available on Radicle.
