Problem Statement

Chrome extension that takes a package delivery history from your Amazon orders page and calculates the estimated carbon used. Has a link for you to then directly offset that carbon. The vision for what the extension might look in the future would be to first expand to all package deliverers commonly used on Amazon, and then offering a simpler interface than the KlimaDAO offset dApp, so that people could just pay directly with something like their credit card.

Solution

The main functionality is the parsing of the Amazon order page to reconstruct the journey the package took when it was actually traveling and not inside of a facility). Thanks to existing ReFi infrastructure, the user can then just go offset their carbon at a dApp. The hardest part to improve on in the future is definitely better carbon estimation, it's difficult to estimate distance when a package might be moved inside of one city from one distribution center to another for example.
