Problem Statement

A Revolutionary Platform for Verified FreelancersCurrent talent marketplaces like Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancers, etc. has many downsides even though they are very good enablers for many people. All of a sudden, they can:📈 decide to change their fees,🚫 stop operating in the region where you are in,🛂 ban you without giving any warning and reason.There has to be a better way of doing this mediator business to offer censorship-resistant, reliable and offer an empowered experience both freelancers and business owners.VeriFreelance is going to connect individuals with job opportunities. Not only we offer crypto payments but also verify the profiles using zero knowledge (zk) technology of Polygon ID. This verification process ensures that only real individuals are participating in the marketplace, which enhances trust and security for both freelancers and employers. Crypto escrow payments with smart contracts, verified identities with zk proofs in a talent marketplace.

Solution

We are a big fan of Austin Griffith's tutorials on Youtube. At first, we have tried to utilize theScaffold-ETHas a base for our project however, it turns out to be a not good fit. It was requiring a good amount of development and with our team, it wouldn't be possible given Hackathon constrains. Therefore, we abandoned the project after we forked and do some kind of proof of concept testing under our new Github organization:Cr8ProductThen, we have looked up other boiler-plate alternatives and we have found,TalentLayerwhich it offers a comprehensive features. It turns out to be Indie would help us to facilitate presentation layer and offer good flexibility to change the code.With that, we have already a moving pieces to cover the requirement of a marketplace, so we can only focus on additional feature of identity verification. We thought that we can utilizePolygon IDto ensure only necessary information is being shared with the platform and the job poster. Another reason of why we have preferred Polygon ID is to deploy quickly on Polygon chain too by usingAlongside of the web development, we have worked on the design of the mobile experience of the VeriFreelance inFigmawhere we'll continue after the hackathon
