Problem Statement
EthicData is a Web3-based platform that allows users to earn ETH by contributing their anonymized browsing data. The system ensures privacy, legality using a tender-based system where companies can release tenders for some amount of ETH and users can choose to apply for it or opt out. It comprises AI-driven inference and vectorisation powered by ASI agents. The vast amount of data we generate is stored using Lighthouse, making the data decentralized and highly available but still being stored with encryption. So the users get ETH for their daily browsing, companies get legally generated data which is mutually beneficial for both users and companies.How It Works:User Participation:Users install a privacy-first browser extension.The extension collects anonymized site metadata and browsing patterns with explicit user consent.No personally identifiable information (PII) is exposed.Data Storage & Security:The collected data is sharded and stored securely using Filecoin’s Lighthouse.Sharding ensures that even if a single data shard is accessed, it cannot reveal the user’s identity.AI Processing & Contextualization:The platform applies AI agents powered by ASI to the data.AI performs vectorizations, inference, and generates contextual profiles for users.This AI-generated context can later be used for:Personalized search or recommendations on platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Medium, YouTube, Netflix, etc.Analytical insights for companies without revealing personal user data.Company Tenders:Companies post “data tenders” specifying:Reward amount (in ETH)Duration of data collectionMinimum user participation requiredUsers can opt into specific tenders they are interested in.Eligibility & Rewards:Users become eligible after meeting tender requirements, e.g., visiting a minimum number of websites during the tender period.Smart contracts lock ETH at the start of the tender.Once the tender completes, ETH is automatically distributed equally among eligible users.Anti-Spam & Bot Protection:Self is used to anonymize Aadhar linkage with crypto accounts to prevent bots or fake accounts from participating.Key Benefits:For Users: Earn ETH for their daily browsing while maintaining privacy.For Companies: Receive legally generated, consented, high-quality data for analytics.For the Platform: AI agents maintain contextual understanding and generate insights that could enhance future personalization and search capabilities.
Solution
Introducing EthicData, a platform that incentivises users for becoming sources of anonymous data and earn ETH in return. At #ETHGlobal2025, we're building a privacy-first extension and Platform that collects anonymized site metadata and browsing patterns with user's consent. The data then undergoes great amount of AI inference and vectorisations, through AI agents powered by ASI. On platform companies get to open tenders for a given amount and time period. Finally, users get to chose from which tenders to opt in for. After completing a minimal number of websites visited the users become eligible for that tender and upon execution of the contract, the tender's amount is equally distributed amoung the people who have applied and became eligible. So the users are happy because they get eth for there daily browsing. the companies are happy because they get actual legally generated data with full ownership and in between our platform genrates inference and maintain AI generated context of all the users. This context can be used to provide user specific searcher on platforms like amazon flipkart medium youtube netflix and so on. All the monitory transactoins happen in smart contracts the eth gets locked in the contract at the begining of the tender and is automatically distributed upon completion. Our main sponsors which we used were self for anonymised aadhar linkage to crypto accounts to prevent bot spamming, ASI for providing RAG and LLM inference and filecoin's lighthouse for storing sharded datapoints in batches. Q1) What if bots try to exploit the system by submitting fake data or participating in tenders? Ans) Bots cannot exploit our system because we use Self for robust authentication and identity verification. Every participant must prove their authenticity before interacting with the platform, ensuring that only real users can share data and receive incentives. This eliminates fake accounts, protects the tender system from manipulation, and guarantees that companies always receive high-quality, verified user data.Q2) What if bots try to exploit the system by submitting fake data or participating in tenders? Ans) That is very difficult because — all our code is open-source and deployed on trusted platforms like ASI 1, ensuring full transparency. Data handling follows strict security practices, while all financial transactions are managed through auditable smart contracts, eliminating any risk of misuse. This guarantees both data safety and trust for every user and company in the ecosystem.
