Problem Statement
KagamiFi is a Social DeFi + AI trading platform where advanced traders design AI-powered trading workflows (strategies like TWAP, Grid, AMM Liquidity Provision, Arbitrage). New or less-experienced traders can copy these workflows, subscribe to their signals, and grow their portfolios through automated decision-making.It combines:AI Agents (via MCP server + OpenAI) for strategy planning.On-chain DeFi data (via DeFiLlama) for real-time execution.Community pooling & copy trading for accessibility and social growth.SymbolismMirror & Reflection → from Japanese "Kagami" (mirror), symbolizing copy trading and reflection of strategies.Finance & Intelligence → combining finance symbols (candlesticks, liquidity pools) with AI patterns (neural nets, abstract intelligence motifs).Futurism + Trust → sleek, tech-ancient vibe: glowing neon, precise geometric shapes, balanced symmetry.
Solution
The idea for this project came from observing a real gap in the crypto space. I noticed that newcomers to Web3 often struggle to invest their tokens—whether earned through salaries, hackathon prizes, or bounties—because advanced DeFi strategies are too complex and risky. At the same time, experienced traders have the expertise to generate consistent returns but lack a structured way to share their ideas and monetize their strategies. This problem–opportunity pair inspired me to build a platform that bridges the two worlds.On the technical side, we combined multiple cutting-edge technologies to bring this to life:Uniswap v4 forms the base AMM layer, letting us leverage concentrated liquidity and hooks to create modular, AI-driven trading workflows. Its extensibility was a perfect fit for building MCP (Modular Composable Protocol) trading blocks.Polygon x402 protocol powers our payment layer. It allows our MCP AI agents to execute pay-per-use and subscription payments autonomously, without repeatedly prompting users for approval. This was a breakthrough for us—agentic payments that just work.Frontend: built in TypeScript + React, styled with Tailwind and shadcn components. We created two primary pages:TradeFlow for experienced traders to build and deploy workflows.TradeReflex for followers to discover, subscribe, and copy trade.Backend: a Python FastAPI service orchestrates AI-driven simulations, strategy optimization, and handles API logic.Smart Contracts: written in Solidity and deployed on Polygon Amoy testnet, handling strategy vaults, follower vaults, and community pools.We also integrated Framer Motion for a fluid user experience and set up mock x402 payment flows to validate real-world wallet transfers.
