Problem Statement

Ruins of Rome is a strategic, AI-driven Web3 game that brings the world of ancient Roman combat to the Hedera blockchain. It addresses the lack of depth in typical blockchain games by introducing intelligent, evolving AI gladiators as on-chain assets. Players can engage in dynamic PvE and PvP combat, customize their warriors, and earn blessings from Roman gods through the unique "Divine Favor System." The project also features a seamless onboarding experience with gas-free God NFTs, allowing players to receive powerful divine boosts without worrying about transaction fees.

Solution

The project is built with a Next.js frontend styled with Tailwind CSS, and it also uses Next.js for its backend API routes. All on-chain assets, including the gladiators and the gas-free God NFTs, are minted and managed on the Hedera network, leveraging its high speed and low transaction fees.The intelligent, evolving AI that powers the gladiators' strategic abilities in combat is driven by the GroqSDK. The Corcel API is integrated to generate unique, Roman-themed content. Core user and game data are stored in a MongoDB database, and the entire application is hosted on Vercel for seamless deployment and scalability.
