Problem Statement

Tomo Labs is a protocol to split payments on-chain using ENS, manage groups and pending dues, and earn lottery-like yield from liquidity pools with cross-chain settlement and decentralized Filecoin storage. You can go to parties and events and spend time with your friends without taking the burden of who owns whose money; you can just use our application to map and earn free yield lotteries.

Solution

We built the project using Next.js (Pages Router) for the frontend and Tailwind CSS for styling. The first challenge was integrating ENS via Alchemy, after which we used ethers.js to handle smart contract interactions. For cross-chain liquidity pools, we experimented with Uniswap v4 hooks, closely following their documentation. Integrating Filecoin Lighthouse was tricky—its HTTP docs weren’t very helpful—so we switched to their SDK, which worked much better.
